The Rise of Bottega Veneta in Quiet Luxury Fashion

Bottega Veneta stepped into a new storytelling phase with its SS18 campaign titled Reflections, where six short films were released episodically, offering an immersive, cinematic journey across digital platforms. This mobile-first, innovative approach allowed the brand to unfold a compelling narrative layer by layer.

Each episode, directed by Fabien Baron, carried a single creative voice, aligned with Creative Director Tomas Maier’s vision. The films weren’t just visuals; they were stories, blending the Art of Collaboration with Bottega Veneta’s core pillars of mystery, architecture, and sophistication.

The series featured surreal characters drifting through themes of sensuality, surrealism, and emotional evolution, allowing the customer to experience a dialogue with the brand on their own terms. The narratives formed an anthology, where a man and a woman cross paths in dreamlike scenes like Utopia, Miraggio, and 196.6 MHz.

One standout scene showed a room, warmly lit, where objects, light, and movement seemed frozen — capturing that moment before things come alive. In Rebirth, a flood of thousands of flowers created a state of nostalgic naiveté, evoking memories of childhood and the potential of life anew.

These videos also marked the opening of a new store at Dubai Mall, launched on Monday, March 19, in its Fashion extension. The house cleverly used this campaign to translate their message of luxury into modern stories, told with clarity, grace, and timeless appeal.
