Strawberry Moon UAE: When to See the June Full Moon in the Emirates Sky
On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, the night skies of the northern hemisphere will showcase the strawberry moon, a low-hanging moon with deep red hues. This last full moon of spring ushers in a summer mood, and its resplendent red glow will be visible in clear skies across the UAE.
The term “strawberry moon” comes from Indigenous Americans, marking the strawberry harvest. The colourful moon signals the pick of this cherished fruit, and its reddish colouring adds a celestial event that is truly bucket list worthy.
This low position of the moon means it rises and sets in a way that reflects light from the Earth, making it exceptionally bright. The position opposite the sun enhances its show, with Saturn also making a subtle appearance for sky watchers.
Interestingly, the strawberry moon is the lowest full moon since 2006 and will not appear this way again until 2043, marking a lucky philoselenes moment for those enjoying the summer skies.
For those seeking more astronomical events, a total lunar eclipse will occur on Sunday, 7 September, where the Earth’s umbral shadow temporarily blackouts the visible side of the moon, two weeks later, adding more wonder to the skies alight in 2025.
