Visiting Mint Leaf for Diwali
Experiencing Mint Leaf Dubai during Diwali felt like stepping into a fusion of Indian fine dining and modern design. The classical furniture, leather seating, and sweeping views of Downtown Dubai and Sheikh Zayed Road created an atmosphere that felt truly elevated. Although I compared it with well-known places like MASTI, Tresind, Carnival, Tresind Studio, Hutong, Indochine, Ninive, and Bull & Bear, Mint Leaf held its own with a refined Indian menu, thoughtful curation, and the warm festive energy of Diwali—a celebration embraced in London, Trinidad and Tobago, and Dubai since 2020.
The dishes invoked memories of home, while Chef Pradeep Khullar and the attentive marketing team made the evening feel personal. Every cocktail was handcrafted, and the pricing matched the transparency promised on both the website and at the restaurant itself. Whether you come from Mint Leaf of London or are visiting for the first time, the blend of originality, competition, and elevated dining makes it a destination worth revisiting.
Overall Experience at Mint Leaf Dubai

My visit to Mint Leaf became memorable for reasons that were honest rather than negative. One of the best parts was the genuine interaction with Raj, our server, who remained attentive despite managing four large tables. When a private disappointment grew into open dissatisfaction, the restaurant manager handled it with impressive patience. He listened to my feedback for nearly 15 minutes—engaged, note-taking, and asking questions instead of nodding aimlessly or drifting off the way managers sometimes do.
I explained how lasting experiences aren’t created through superficial fixes like redecorating or tearing down walls, but through structural shifts in approach—even subtle changes in posture or mindset. Instead of defensiveness, I felt a genuine willingness to learn and improve. Their sincerity made it clear they’re committed to enhancing the dining experience for future guests.
Mint Leaf’s Food and Drink Experience

The six-course menu at Mint Leaf Dubai is like a creative journey—part playful, part experimental—blending cold and hot starters, mains, sides, and desserts into a modern expression of Indian cuisine. Some dishes shine, while others stumble, yet each carries a spark of innovation.
My first course, a cold-starter pani puri presented with dry ice, felt like equal parts Vegas and street-food theatre—fun, bold, and unexpected. The flavors often hovered between brilliance and inconsistency. For example, the spinach tempura with mango compote and tamarind yoghurt tasted vibrant yet overly sweet, while the coriander water sometimes leaned too heavy on sweetness.
Certain dishes reminded me of Tresind Studio Season 5, including the gunpowder scallops on seasoned arugula, which slightly missed the mark with a rich, mayonnaise-like sauce. Still, there were strong moments: the fenugreek chicken thigh—though salty—was satisfying, and the Raj chicken tikka thigh delivered perfect spice and a smoky char. The achari paneer tikka was beautifully mild and milky, while the medium-seared beef with berries pulao arrived tougher than expected.
Seafood dishes showed a mix of strengths and weaknesses—chettinad prawns, curry leaf poha, gongura chicken, and quinoa tahiri sometimes felt overly sauced. Vegetarian options like silken tofu, zucchini kofta, and a rust-colored gravy missed the mark, feeling disconnected from the richness of Indian vegetarian cuisine. And yet, despite the up-and-down journey, the meal remained vivid, ambitious, and often delightful.
Mint Leaf Dubai Desserts

Dessert at Mint Leaf arrives as a breath of fresh air after the bold courses. The chefs take a daring, inventive approach, especially with the standout Valrhona chocolate creation—bittersweet, elegantly dipped, and served alongside turmeric-infused kulfi and almond halwa topped with citrus crumbs, lotus, pistachio, and biscotti. It’s a combination that feels both luxurious and playful.
Their cocktails reflect the same adventurous spirit. Favorites include the Goan Shack, with its passion fruit and Pomme fusion, and Midnight Paris, crafted with Bombay Sapphire. Even their French Martini—served under soft, glowing lights—shows a fearless, imaginative touch. It’s clear that when it comes to desserts and drinks, Mint Leaf Dubai leads with creativity and a “why not?” attitude that leaves a lasting impression.
