The Karowe Diamond Mine, located in Botswana, is known for producing some of the world’s seventh-largest diamonds, including the legendary Lesedi La Rona (1,109 carats) and the Sewelô (1,758 carats), a stone later acquired by Louis Vuitton. In 2015, the company announced the discovery of a 1,080-carat diamond, making headlines across the globe. Lucara Diamonds is currently extending its operations at the Karowe mine, with works underway to secure production until 2046. The company operates under agreements with global leaders like De Beers and follows ethical standards such as the Kimberley Process. This ensures its diamonds are responsibly mined, further bolstering its image as a top producer of diamonds.
