Discover Ermenegildo Zegna’s Finest Luxury Menswear
Ermenegildo Zegna was born in Trivero, Italy in 1892, the tenth child of a watchmaker named Angelo. At just 18, he had the courage to set up a wool mill in his hometown, starting with only four looms but with a clear vision to create the world’s finest fabrics.
His eponymous brand began producing fabrics in 1910, and by 1915 the factory had become renowned for its unrivaled quality. What set Zegna apart was his meticulous attention to detail and his dedication to craftsmanship, which became the true cornerstones of his legacy.
During the 1930s, he expanded his vision beyond fabrics and began crafting bespoke suits. The brand’s commitment to quality menswear turned its designs into masterpieces of Italian elegance, admired by a discerning clientele who viewed him as a maestro of tailoring expertise.
By 1938, in less than ten years, the company expanded internationally, exporting fabrics to America and reaching over 40 countries. Even while building a global name, he cared deeply for his hometown, launching reforestation and landscaping projects that later made the area a true tourist destination.
In the 1960s, his sons Aldo and Angelo took over the leadership and broadened the brand’s horizons. They introduced ready-to-wear, sportswear, and accessories collections, ensuring the legacy evolved while remaining a leader in the luxury menswear segment.
By 1980, Zegna opened its first flagship boutique in Paris, soon followed by stores in London, Milan, and Beijing. This iconic brand became a symbol of Western luxury menswear in China, paving the way for global influence that continues to thrive today.
