Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Dubai Brings History to Life
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Dubai: A Reason to Eat at Atlantis the Royal

Before I ever visited Dubai, I remembered friends who had before walked past London’s famous Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, dreaming of the Fat Duck in Bray, but their aspirations, bank balances, and the long years of wait made the place feel almost inaccessible. I felt that same mix of joyful curiosity and mild jealousy—like munching on glassy, triple-cooked chips at the Hinds Head, the cosy Bray-based pub, while leering through the window at diners across the road. A colleague once told me how simply listening to chefs there made them nod in awe, and that memory returned as soon as I heard the news that the brand was coming to Dubai.
Walking into the restaurant, I was instantly intrigued, already forming questions about the restaurant’s vision, its walls, and even the famous liquorice dessert. I wondered if my housing allowance would disappear once the bill arrived, but the detail-oriented approach made me happily deign to visit again. I even tried to poke around the kitchen during lunch service, hoping for photos, but the politely media-trained team only offered a warm smile and a soft thank you. I also spotted the slightly pudgy sign of Chef Cuisine Tom Allen, and he truly put on a show—affable, funny, almost gentlemanly, clearly invested in the craft, and proudly sharing how the sous team handles development just like in London at the Fat Duck.
